Spiritual Care

A certified spiritual care provider offers care and support to those facing their end of life journey and their families. Spiritual care includes a companioning presence, confidentiality, excellent listening skills, expressions of compassion, and information and guidance regarding medical ethics questions.

Spirituality can form an essential part of a person’s holistic health and personal well-being. Key concepts include meaning, values, beliefs, transcendence, connectedness and becoming.

The Coordinator of Bereavement and Spiritual Care specializes in spiritual well-being.

Our services include:

  • Consultation with Coordinator of Bereavement & Spiritual Care
  • Spiritual/Pastoral Counselling
  • Assistance with funeral planning or other rituals
  • Liaison with religious/faith community or clergy
  • Spirituality resources in our well stocked library

Heart House Hospice programs are offered at no cost to the individuals and families. We receive partial funding from the government but to bridge the gap, we must raise $500,000 each year relying on the generosity of corporations, foundations, community minded citizens, service clubs and special events.
