Because of generous people like you
During the 2019-2020 Fiscal Year, Heart House Hospice was able to lead, provide, partner and inspire excellent hospice palliative care in our community. Directing In Memorium gifts to Heart House Hospice is a frequent wish of palliative individuals and their families. Heart House Hospice has In Memorium cards that we will deliver or send to the funeral home or memorial service location determined by the family.
If this is your wish, please contact Shelley Maynard, Fund Development Manager, by email to smaynard@hearthousehospice.com or by phone at 905-712-8119 extension 233, to learn more about how we can help you with this process.
An In Memorium webpage can be placed on the Heart House Hospice website to receive on-line donations and for donors and guests who want to leave a tribute message.
Donors will receive a tax receipt for all In Memorium gifts and a thank you letter is also sent to the person making the donation.
A list of all the names and addresses of the donations is sent to the family should they desire to send out their own thank you notes.
By donating publicly traded securities, you eliminate the capital gains tax that you’d have to pay if you sold the securities and then donated the proceeds. You’ll also receive a charitable tax receipt for your donation.
Securities can include stocks, mutual funds, segregated funds, bonds, flow-through shares, and employee stock options. You can give now, or as part of your estate and will planning.
Giving is simple. Consult your financial advisor then ask your broker to transfer your securities to Heart House Hospice by completing the appropriate transfer form.
