Monthly HUUG Events

Every month our HUUG (Help Us Understand Grief) team plans an event filled with memories, activities and fun. It is a great opportunity to meet and connect with other families that have experience with grief and death. The monthly events are open to children and families that have used the HUUG program.

The HUUG events are planned to promote opportunities for families to;

  • create social networks and relationships with other families living with the death of a loved one
  • remember and talk about their loved ones through meaningful activities and legacy work
  • talk about grief, self-care and coping strategies
  • reconnect with the HUUG counsellors

Every month is a different event. What’s not different is that we always use our gatherings to share and remember our loved ones.

Special cloths, colours, fabric and mementos can remind us of our loved ones. Some of our activities build legacy pieces with some of our and our loved ones favorite things.

We made special ornaments for the tree with memories and love. This serves to remind us of past memories, special moments and their continues presence.
