COPD and Parkinson’s Disease

This presentation will describe the impacts of chronic disease and recognize what the patterns of dying may look like for someone with COPD and Parkinson’s. Topics will include:
- A review of chronic disease:
- General information on COPD and Parkinson’s disease progression and end of life
- Non-medical comfort measures that can be provided at end of life
Presented by Taryn Bolt, OT Reg. (Ont.), a registered Occupational Therapist working as the Community Education Program Lead at the Regional Learning Centre. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of English and Psychology, and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. She has completed a Geriatric Certificate from McMaster University and is a registered Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) coach.
