Heart House Hospice is committed to providing a continuum of care. A certified Spiritual Care Provider offers spiritual care and support to clients and their families thereby continuing to honour our commitment to provide care and support during difficult times.

From Spiritual Care, you can expect: a companioning presence; confidentiality; good listening skills; an expression of compassion; information and guidance regarding medical ethics questions.

Spirituality forms an essential part of every person's holistic health and personal well-being. Key concepts of spirituality are; meaning, values, beliefs, transcendence, connectedness and becoming.

As fully participating members of the hospice care team, the Coordinator of Spiritual Care specializes in caring for the spiritual well being of clients and their families.

Our Spiritual Care services include:
  • Consultation with Coordinator of Spiritual Care
  • Spiritual / Pastoral Counselling
  • Assistance with funeral planning or other rituals
  • Liaison with religious/faith community or clergy
  • Spirituality resources in our well-stocked library.
