One to One Spiritual Care
When you are scared, lonely, confused, angry, disillusioned, Spiritual Care Professionals will listen, clarify and share your pain. A certified Spiritual Care Professional offers spiritual care and counselling to clients and their families. Through this interaction relationships of trust and empathy are established.
The Coordinator of Spiritual Care recognizes that the needs and traditions of people with different faiths is an important part of each client's and well-being. We offer spiritual/pastoral counselling in times of crisis, questioning, wonderment and need.
The Coordinator of Spiritual Care will provide counselling and support, and when asked, will contact representative from your own faith group, assist with funeral or other rituals planning.
The Coordinator of Spiritual Care is able to visit with the client at the bedside and
can be of help when you;
- need emotional and/or spiritual support
- are feeling lonely, sad, discouraged
- are experiencing setbacks, have received bad news or are awaiting test results
- have special religious needs (e.g. food, customs at birth or death)
- need Sabbath candles, bible, prayer book, meditation tapes, etc.
- wish a ritual of healing and health according to your own faith tradition
- have been in ill a long time
- are experiencing loss or grief
- are considering treatment options
- want someone to pray with you or wish to receive a sacrament
Heart House Hospice respects the right of all people to their own beliefs and affiliations and is committed to service that is characterized by care, compassion and concern for the whole person. This includes care for physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
The Coordinator of Spiritual Care is trained to offer multi-faith spiritual care and support. We serve those of any faith, and those of no particular faith.
