HIV 101 and Disclosure

In this workshop you will learn and apply HIV basics, policies and laws that govern HIV-positive clients’ health information, review strategies for supporting a client’s journey to disclosure and how gender plays a role in this journey, describe myths and facts about disclosure and barriers to disclosure, and identify community supports available for clients seeking information on disclosure.
Presenter: Joy Nortei. Joy is the women’s community development coordinator with Moyo Health and Community Services. She holds an honours degree in History and Political Science from University of Toronto and an honours diploma in Community Development from George Brown. Having worked over 10 years in community, Joy shows a passion for social justice, women’s rights, cats and chocolate.
